Taste Tea in Mengzi

Megzi tea bring me to the ancient time of China.

We had a good time in China

I like all towns in Yunnan, but Mengzi is my favorite place to stay. Tea in Mengzi smells good and has its meaningful taste, which bring me to the ancient time of China. We went to “Nan hu gong yuan”, we ate “Guo qiao mi xian”. Honghe Prefectural Museum enriches our knowledge about the history and culture of Mengzi & Jianshui. We also traveled across Jianshui, tasted Jianshui’s roast duck (ha ha....Jianshui kao ya, not Beijing kao ya...) and visited Zhu’s garden “Zhu jia hua yuan”. Moreover, I love the weather and study environment of HU. HU has its smooth way to walk back and forth easily. However, the paths in Yuxi & Dali University are not on the same level, they are situated in mountainous area. Students have to climb up and down everyday. They said their legs hurt until they get used to.

In Yuxi, we stay in foreign student dormitory. We have almost everything, even washing machines, cookers, TV, refrigerator. However, we feel Yazhuang Hotel is lovely and better. We went to Yuxi Museum (it has many dinosaur bones, Kong long), Niér Grand, Nier Park, Red Pagoda “Hong Ta” and Yuxi Cigarette factory. We also enjoy seeing young people celebrate “Po shui jie”.

I really like Dali’s foods, especially deep-fried corn with flour &
Huang men ji. We went to a famous street in the old town of Dali, “Yang ren jie”. I bought many souvenirs for my friends, some tea for my father, and some clothes for my niece. The Old town of Dali is a place that was set up in the Ming Dynasty where we could find well preserved traditional styled houses of the Bai people. Major highlights that we visted in Dali include the Erhai Lake, the Three Pagodas, the Butterfly Fountain, and San yue jie. We spent a wonderful time on a ship to see the view of Erhai, Bai traditional musical concerts, traditional marriage custom, and drink three flavors of tea: 1. ku, 2. tian, 3. hui wei. Shi laoshi “Shi Cui Fang” explained us about those things. She used to work as a guide and she is Bai, so she’s quite clear about those.

For me, during 2 weeks in Yuunan, I was very happy and also left a deep impression. All of Chinese teachers are so kind to me, friendly, took good care of me, offered me a pleasant time, and give me a warm relationship between two different nationalities.
